What Wendy Likes: I like that Blue Bottle is for coffee lovers, by coffee lovers. This shines through in the way that they do business. I personally tend to prefer the more nuanced flavors of medium roast coffees hailing from Africa, especially Ethiopia. But honestly I am a sucker for a beautiful write-up description and am likely to try any new coffee, because I just trust Blue Bottle that much. It's hard to go wrong here. My go-to favorites are Opascope Espresso and Beta Blend. I prefer to brew in my Bialetti moka pot for a stout, short cup of joe. They ship whole beans to you within 24 hours of roasting. I buy a two week supply at one time, to ensure maximum freshness of the beans. Alternatively, you can order pre-ground coffee in single serve packages with the new Perfectly Ground.
Yes, you are going to pay about twice as much for Blue Bottle Coffee beans compared to the big national brands. But let me tell you, the taste is more than twice as good. ;)
I hope you try Blue Bottle Coffee soon! Feel free to ask any questions, I've tried many of their beans. Currently brewing Burundi Kayanza Heza (notes of black cherry, honeysuckle, lemongrass).
