Everlane Pleated Skirt Review
Here is my Sunday best outfit featuring the Everlane Pleated Skirt in navy. I have a few pleated skirts from other retailers (J. Crew, Asos, JC Penney), but this one is the best. The fabric is high quality and the drape is just right, not too flimsy, with flowy movement. It is opaque enough, although I prefer to wear it with a slip as it is unlined. The fit is a bit big for me. I normally wear a size 4 (26 inch waist) and this skirt gaps a few inches at the waist. I decided to keep it, as the extra fabric is unnoticeable under a top, and would probably work out casually with a t-shirt loosely tucked in. The hem is raw but does not have that cheap, unfinished look. For reference, I am 5'8" and the hem falls low on my knee. Lately I've been favoring fuller silhouettes over pencil skirts, and this pleated number is my favorite of the season! If only it were machine washable.
I purchased this Club Monaco 'Jolana' fringe sweater jacket last year and find myself wearing it from fall through spring. The fabric is a good quality wool/cotton blend, and I love the unique knit with fringe details. Always get compliments on it. Sadly, the sweater is sold out in the blush pink color, yet somehow is still available in black. Grab this one! Or its' lighter colored cousin from this season's lineup (Club Monaco 'Mahssa' sweater jacket).
Finally, the Cole Haan 'Marina' over-the-knee-boots were some I saw on Jean at Extra Petite and I had to have them. They are so easy to wear and comfortable for walking in -like from the car to the building, not on the trail or anything ;). I have a few pairs of Stuart Weitzman otk boots, and honestly I like these just as much. The suede isn't as stretchy as SW, it's a bit thicker, but the quality is nice and they look so lush. Can't beat the price!
